In a recent report, Sport Mediaset claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have agreed on personal terms with Newcastle United star Sandro Tonali. It has been mentioned that Spurs are yet to come to an agreement with the Magpies over a potential move for the Italy international this summer.

Tonali’s Solid Campaign In The Premier League

Tonali enjoyed a solid campaign at the Tyneside club after he produced a run of impressive displays for them in the middle of the park. The 26-year-old did well to score three goals and secure seven assists in 53 matches for the Magpies last season across all competitions.

The Italian talent is currently one of the best central midfielders in the Premier League. Hence, Spurs would do well to bring him on board this off-season.

Will Tonali Be A Dream Signing For Tottenham Hotspur?

Tonali is a solid tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to secure possession back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the front foot and is a tidy passer as well from midfield.

The Italian sensation can contribute by scoring and creating a handful of important goals for his team. Tonali is primarily a defensive midfielder but can also serve as a box-to-box midfielder if asked to do so. However, it remains to be seen whether he can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League if Spurs manage to get a deal done for him this summer.

We can expect Tonali to add more quality and depth to Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi’s midfield. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at the North London club next season.
