Ukrainian journalist reveals what Chelsea are planning to do in Mykhailo Mudryk case

Chelsea are planning to file lawsuits against both Mykhailo Mudryk and the Ukrainian Association of Football according to journalist Igor Burbas.

Mudryk has been charged by the Football Association after he failed a doping test whilst on international duty with Ukraine last year.

The 24-year-old hasn’t played for the Blues since the end of November last year, and updates on his situation have been few and far between.

Chelsea planning to file lawsuits against Mudryk and Ukrainian FA

Mudryk scored on his last game for Chelsea against Heidenheim in the Conference League, and was last seen in a match day squad against Aston Villa at the start of December.

The Ukraine international has always maintained his innocence, and Mudryk is believed to have passed a lie detector test.

If found guilty Mudryk faces the prospect of a four year ban, but since being charged by the FA, there’s been next to no information on his case.

However, Burbas has previously claimed Mudryk could have failed the test due to a stem cell injection he received.

The same journalist has now provided more information as reported via X account @scout_eurasia on what Chelsea are planning to.

They wrote on X.com:

“Chelsea and Shakhtar Donetsk are reportedly preparing legal action against the Ukrainian Association of Football (UAF) in connection with a doping case involving Chelsea midfielder Mykhailo Mudryk.

“This was reported by journalist Igor Burbas. According to the report, Chelsea conducted an internal investigation and concluded that the player may have used banned substances while on international duty with the Ukrainian national team.

“The London club plans to file lawsuits both against Mudryk – seeking compensation for the record-breaking transfer – and against the UAF, which, according to Chelsea’s management, may have been the source of the prohibited substances.”
