Kylian Mbappé and France arrived in Boston on Tuesday, settling at the city-centre Four Seasons, which they hope to use through June and July during the 11 June to 19 July World Cup.

L'Équipe reports the hotel overlooks Boston Common and the Public Garden, and the squad plan to take two floors on their return, one for players and one for staff, with rooms at the back for calm.

Winter lingered in the morning, but sun greeted the team as they stepped off a La Compagnie jet in their colours, fitted with 76 business seats, before a brief tour of their base.

Their long-term training site will wait for June. For now the focus is Thursday in Foxborough, where France meet Brazil, then return there to face Norway on 26 June.

Didier Deschamps has known many set-ups, from Ribeirao Preto in Brazil and Clairefontaine at Euro 2016 to Istra near Moscow, Covid-era Budapest and Bucharest, Doha in 2022 and Paderborn at Euro 2024.

The tour blends sport and commerce yet already has a World Cup feel. Some already know they will return on 10 June, with Aurélien Tchouaméni welcoming the chance to take early bearings. Hugo Ekitike prioritised the warm-up matches, and Maxence Lacroix noted academy ties with Ibrahima Konaté.

To manage jet lag, Deschamps shifted mealtimes, serving breakfast on board at local lunch. After a quiet Monday at Clairefontaine, the squad limited themselves to stretches on arrival, before a single session on Wednesday at New England Revolution’s training complex.
