Hugo Duro struck first from Beltrán’s pass, before Espanyol levelled at 1-1 from a Jofre Carreras cross. Cömert then made it 2-1 after winning the ball, playing wide and finishing the move. A Copete own goal made it 2-2, then Beltrán drew the decisive penalty, which Ramazani converted after asking Sadiq to let him take it.

Beltrán earned eight and a half, relentless from first whistle to a stoppage-time free-kick on 97, and he won the spot-kick. Cömert also took eight and a half with his best display for Valencia. Duro was given seven for his finish and ferocious work.

Keeper Stole Dimitrievski received six, showing leadership and no fault apportioned on the first two goals. Jesús Vázquez was marked six for secure defending. Copete scored seven after an excellent showing despite the unfortunate own goal.

Pepelu was six and a half, positionally sound and won five duels, though his long passing was mixed. Ugrinic also six and a half, superb before the break and key halting Carlos Romero before the second goal. Danjuma rated six, misread defensively for the leveller but created 2-1 with fine skill and delivery.

Rioja five, diligent but limited. Foulquier rated three after a poor outing. Coach Carlos Corberán eight for selection and changes, with Sadiq seven energetic, Diego López five, Ramazani seven the match-winner, and Santamaría and Guerra had little time.
