Vasco da Gama have begun their 2026 planning under director Admar Lopes and have submitted an official offer for Johan Rojas of Monterrey, Mexico.
According to PaponaColina, the preferred structure is a loan with an option or obligation to buy, limiting immediate outlay. The club want to echo the mid-year window that delivered starters such as Andrés Gómez and are again targeting young South Americans.
Unlike the last window, Vasco are also turning closely to the domestic market, with technical director Felipe and head coach Fernando Diniz monitoring players across Série A and Série B, including those from relegated sides.
Two names are viewed as market opportunities, midfielder Pierre of Fortaleza and centre-back Willian Machado of Ceará.
The recruitment drive aims to address the lack of squad depth that harmed the start of 2025.
