Villarreal are concerned over captain Gerard Moreno, who has missed training before Getafe and remains a doubt.

According to Superdeporte, the forward was benched against Espanyol because of week-long discomfort, and with three days left he is still not with the group.

Marcelino García Toral said the call was agreed by all, yet confidence around his availability has waned.

He skipped the recovery session and the first workout of the week, pointing to more than a minor issue.

The club’s record scorer is central to Marcelino’s plan, so any absence could force an attacking rethink.

No medical bulletin has been issued, and the next hours will dictate whether he makes the squad.

There is brighter news with Thomas, back in full training after 12 days out. The Ghanaian, criticised by Marcelino after the Leverkusen debacle, could be included if his fitness holds.

Alfon González continues rehab from a soleus problem of about six weeks. Logan Costa, Juan Foyth and Pau Cabanes remain sidelined without notable progress. Kambwala, 21, trained in early February and is expected to rejoin fully in March, with no immediate return to top-level action.
