Real Madrid’s thrilling 2-1 win over Barcelona in the first El Clasico of the season was full of drama, emotion, and standout performances — and once again, Vinicius Jr. found himself at the heart of it all.
From his visible frustration when substituted to his interactions with teammates and scuffle with Barcelona players after the final whistle, the Brazilian forward was one of the most talked-about figures of the night at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Speaking after the match, Vinicius took a calmer tone as he reflected on the game during his post-match comments, highlighting both the significance of the win and the electric atmosphere at the Bernabéu.
“It was a great game. Winning El Clasico is always special, it’s very important.
“We’ve started the season well and we were looking forward to this game, and we managed to come away with the victory,” he said as quoted by El Chiringuito TV.
Vinicius admitted that the intensity of El Clasico brings out something extra in every player, and this one, played in front of a packed Bernabéu, was no exception.
“That’s how El Clasico is. We were all looking forward to this game, at home, with our fans, the motivation we had… it was a great day.”
After a demanding stretch of fixtures, the Brazilian seemed eager to take advantage of a short break before Real Madrid’s upcoming matches.
“Now we’re going to have a few days off and we can enjoy ourselves and rest.”

He also called for continued unity between the players and fans as Real Madrid chase major trophies this season.
“The atmosphere here is always special. We can keep it up all season because if the fans play alongside us, we can win big things this season.”
The forward quickly shifted his attention to Real Madrid’s upcoming fixtures, underlining the importance of maintaining momentum in both domestic and European competitions.
“We have Liverpool away and Valencia here. The important thing is to continue in this vein to achieve great things this season.”
Lastly, he also dedicated a strong message to the fans, stating that their support was the catalyst behind the win.
“A message for all Madrid fans, especially those who came to the Bernabéu and supported us so much.
“That’s how El Clasico is, there’s a lot going on on and off the pitch, we try to balance it all, but it’s not always possible.”
Lastly, while reflecting on the drama that unfolded after the final whistle, he said,
“We don’t want to offend anyone, neither the Barcelona players nor the fans. We know that when we go out there, we have to defend our side, and that’s what we did today.”
