Wallace Yan’s proposed switch to Red Bull Bragantino collapsed over payment terms, leaving the forward to chase minutes at Flamengo. According to Globo.com, a fee near 10 million euros with a retained percentage was discussed, but the formal offer diverged.

Flamengo had progressed the deal, the 20-year-old said his goodbyes and travelled to Bragança Paulista. Hopes of a late agreement faded and talks were ended.

Flamengo say Bragantino altered the instalment schedule when formalising the bid. Bragantino contend the parcelled plan had been agreed in principle. Bap, Flamengo’s president, rejected the model.

A rotational centre-forward to support Pedro did not arrive and remains a priority for the next window. In that context, Wallace Yan, converted into a No 9 under Filipe Luís, could be useful.

Last season he played 33 times, scored seven and made four assists. He was part of the Libertadores and Brasileiro winners and travelled to Qatar for the Intercontinental Cup.

This year he featured in the opening two Carioca games with the under-20s. After farewell posts and travel for the move, he returned, played in the rout of Sampaio Corrêa, then was last listed against Vitória.

Muscle pain before the Carioca semi-final with Botafogo sidelined him for three matches. He is back training with the squad at Ninho do Urubu and is available to face Lanús on Thursday.
