Wayne Rooney said Leeds and their fans were poor in the 0-0 home draw with Brentford, while Alan Shearer suggested the point could prove significant.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, it was a fourth straight Premier League game without a goal, with no big chances created and an Expected Goals figure of 0.54, though another clean sheet was recorded.
On a poignant evening as Elland Road remembered Christopher Loftus and Kevin Speight, murdered in Istanbul almost 26 years ago, the noise veered from raucous to nervy. Rooney felt the atmosphere did not reflect the stakes and described the contest as difficult viewing.
Daniel Farke accepted a draw would not have him celebrating, with its value to become clearer around four pm today once rivals have played.
Tottenham host Nottingham Forest and West Ham visit Aston Villa later, with Leeds four points clear of the relegation zone at kick-off and unable to fall below 16th by full-time.
Shearer said avoiding defeat matters and called it a possible massive point, adding he thinks another four points, with Wolves and Burnley still to visit Elland Road, will be enough. He also noted visible nerves, with players unsure whether to commit or sit in.
Leeds will monitor today’s fixtures hoping at least two of their three relegation rivals slip. A three-week pause for the international break follows, before an FA Cup quarter-final at West Ham on Sunday, April fifth.
