Wednesday: draws for Apertura, Clausura and 2026 Copa Argentina

The tournaments of the Professional League will maintain the same format as in 2025, with two zones of 15 teams each, and the draw has been announced for 12 PM at the AFA premises in Ezeiza.

Independiente Rivadavia and the promoted Gimnasia y Esgrima will learn about their rivals in their respective zones, the order of the matches, the interzonal classics, and the dates of a competition that will begin on the weekend of January 24 and 25.

The 2026 Apertura and Clausura Tournaments

The Apertura Tournament will be played in the first semester and the Clausura Tournament in the second semester.
Each tournament starts with 30 teams divided into two zones of 15 teams each.
Within each zone, the teams play against each other in a single round (14 matches) and two interzonal matches: one classic and another designated by draw.
After the zone phase, the top 8 from each zone advance to the playoffs.
The final will be played on neutral ground.

The 2026 Copa Argentina Draw

The matches of the 2026 Copa Argentina, which will feature 64 teams, will also be announced this Wednesday the 10th.

Independiente Rivadavia, the title defender, will play the opening match, likely in January, and will represent Mendoza along with Gimnasia y Esgrima, Godoy Cruz, and Deportivo Maipú.
