West Bromwich Albion supporters offered a mixed verdict on the 2026/27 fixtures, with a testing start and derby timings drawing most comment. According to ExpressAndStar.com, the list was published on Thursday.
New permanent head coach James Morrison faces a demanding opening. Albion begin at Norwich’s Carrow Road on August 15, then host relegated Premier League side Burnley the following weekend, before travelling to Middlesbrough on August 22.
The run-in appears kinder. Albion finish with successive games against promoted Cardiff and Bolton. A first visit to newly-promoted Lincoln’s Sincil Bank is set for Boxing Day.
The first derby sequence brings Wolves away on September 19 and Birmingham at home on October 10, separated by a three-week international break. In February, Albion host Wolves on February 20, then visit St Andrew’s on February 27.
Many fans on social media were downbeat about August, describing the start as brutal and the Norwich trip a let-down. Others felt the closing stretch looked decent, though some called Lincoln away on Boxing Day annoying. The back-to-back derbies split opinion too, with several questioning the scheduling and at least one supporter calling Wolves then Blues heaven.
