West Bromwich Albion are poised to back a switch to squad cost ratio rules when Championship clubs vote on Friday.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, the Baggies intend to support replacing profit and sustainability regulations with SCR, aligning the league with Premier League practice. Albion have advocated the switch since Shilen Patel's Bilkul Football bought the club from Guochuan Lai more than two years ago.
The proposed model limits spending on players' costs to 85 per cent of football revenue and permits a £10 million annual capital injection towards revenue.
The change needs 16 of the 24 clubs to pass. Many second-tier sides want greater investment freedom in pursuit of promotion.
PSR arrived in 2017/18. Albion breached the £39 million three-year loss limit and were deducted two points last month after a hearing.
Having received written reasons last week, the club maintained their innocence but chose not to appeal, with safety already secured.
The Premier League voted last November to replace its £105 million three-year loss cap with SCR.
Albion were forecast to gain more room to manoeuvre financially from this summer under PSR regardless. SCR would also let owners speculate further, with greater emphasis on club revenues.
