West Brom tour diary day three: A win rightly enjoyed by travelling faithful | OneFootball

Albion rounded off an excellent week with a professional 4-1 win over Bromley in Albufeira on Friday night, savoured by a packed travelling support at CF Ferreiras.

As reported by ExpressAndStar.com, head coach James Morrison enjoyed the result but said he had mixed feelings about elements of the display, a reminder of the standards he sets. He felt the bits he disliked can be ironed out.

The scene around the modest provincial ground was lively. My Uber was late, the Baggies had already made the bar opposite their base. It was a pleasure chatting to supporters before kick-off.

I could not reach the Broadway Pub in the old town earlier, frustrating with hundreds crammed in and the colour and noise clear on video. I stayed back to file a Barney Stewart feature and a piece with Max O’Leary, the latter online from Saturday.

A planned stroll became a five-mile loop to the suburbs of Alporchinhos and Vila Lara. The cove beach between cliffs at the end was stunning, a reminder why this is a Brit holiday haven.

Then it was up the lanes to work and a quick burger and chips, hot food was hard to find in my village. It touched 36C around four pm and the heat lingered into the friendly. I could only hope the morning sun cream lasted.

Covering the fixture was a joy, local staff and Albion’s media team were helpful throughout. Post-match interviews with Morrison and Jimmy-Jay Morgan offered plenty, with more to come. A sunset view of Estadio da Nora closed a fine night.
