West Ham United are weighing up a January move for Union SG striker Promise David (24) as the club accelerates plans to reinforce its forward line ahead of a pivotal second half of the season. The 24-year-old Canada international, who has scored nine goals for club and country this season, is among several options under consideration as recruitment staff search for a reliable focal point in attack, according to reports from Sky Sports.

The need is becoming increasingly urgent. Niclas Füllkrug, expected to leave the London Stadium next month, has endured an injury-dominated spell since arriving from Borussia Dortmund and remains without a goal this campaign. Though Wolfsburg retain an interest in the 32-year-old, potential avenues elsewhere appear to be narrowing, making West Ham’s pursuit of a replacement all the more pressing.

Attacking depth is also a concern for Nuno Espírito Santo. Callum Wilson, who enjoyed a brief burst of form in November, continues to manage persistent fitness issues and approaches his 34th birthday still seeking rhythm after missing 29 games for Newcastle last season. Behind him, Callum Marshall is viewed as a long-term prospect rather than an immediate solution, having featured only twice from the bench.

David’s pace, physicality and upward trajectory have placed him firmly on West Ham’s radar, an option that, in a sparse striker market, may soon move from possibility to priority.
