Grêmio goalkeeper Weverton is on Brazil’s provisional list for the 2026 World Cup, drawn up by head coach Carlo Ancelotti, according to Globo.com.
He has not been called up by Ancelotti so far, though he featured under previous managers. Tite named him for the 2022 World Cup, and he was also selected during spells under Fernando Diniz and Dorival Júnior.
His most recent call-up came in March 2025, when Alisson withdrew and, then at Palmeiras, Weverton was summoned by Dorival Júnior to face Argentina.
The goalkeeping pool also includes Alisson of Liverpool, Ederson of Fenerbahçe, Bento of Al-Nassr, John of Nottingham Forest, and Hugo Souza of Corinthians.
At Grêmio, Balbuena and Villasanti have hopes of being called up by Paraguay. Forward Amuzu also dreams of a Ghana call for the World Cup.
