Vasco full-back Paulo Henrique in Brazil’s World Cup provisional list

Vasco full-back Paulo Henrique has been included in Brazil’s 55-man World Cup provisional list sent to Fifa by the CBF.

According to Globo.com, the club were informed late on Monday. Carlo Ancelotti will confirm the 26-man squad on 18 May, next Monday. So far, 54 of the 55 names on the long list have been identified.

PH keeps his World Cup dream alive, although competition in his position is strong. He was called up by Carlo Ancelotti for two friendlies in November last year against South Korea and Japan.

He scored the opening goal against Japan at Ajinomoto Stadium in Tokyo.

The last goal by a Vasco player for Brazil was scored by midfielder Rômulo in June 2012 in a friendly against Argentina.
