Weverton topped Grêmio’s ratings in the 0-0 draw with Remo at the Arena, producing at least two big saves and keeping out a penalty.
According to Globo.com, Luís Castro’s side played with a man advantage from the 22nd minute of the second half but could not find a breakthrough.
At the back, Pavón was steady and Gustavo Martins largely secure, while Viery provided cover and completed the most passes for Grêmio. Pedro Gabriel repeatedly offered himself down the flank.
In midfield, Dodi read spaces well and won challenges, while Arthur Melo improved the build-up and helped raise possession. Nardoni and Monsalve lacked tempo, and debutant Bernardo Zortea conceded a penalty on Pikachu.
Amuzu posed the greatest threat with efforts from range. Tetê’s attempts brought little reward, and Braithwaite and Carlos Vinícius saw little of the ball.
Enamorado’s pace could not mask erratic delivery, and Gabriel Mec struggled to influence proceedings. Central cohesion remained lacking and the wing-first plan looked predictable, with changes having little effect.
