Leeds United were without several senior players for their first pre-season friendly against Wrexham in America, with setbacks and World Cup scheduling behind the absences.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Dominic Calvert-Lewin had a small pre-season setback that halted his individual programme. He is training individually on camp and building towards a return to team training and playing.

Jaka Bijol has taken a knock to his knee, so he was not involved. Sebastiaan Bornauw has a very minor issue, and he was not risked.

Leeds had already said Noah Okafor was given extra time off after Switzerland reached the World Cup quarter-finals, meaning he would not feature on the tour of America.

They had also stated that World Cup players would only feature later in the tour, explaining the absence of Gabi Gudmundsson, Brenden Aaronson and new signing Tarirk Muharemovic from the Wrexham matchday squad.

Ilia Gruev was also missing as he continues his comeback from a meniscus knee injury.
