Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez will not miss any Premier League games despite being sent off at the weekend.

The Blues stopper was sent off for Chelsea inside just five minutes after a reckless challenge stopped Bryan Mbeumo scoring an opening goal for Manchester United.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea thinking about selling new signing who’s not even arrived yet in favour of another new arrival!!

Former Premier League midfielder Jamie Redknapp has highlighted the key moment where it all goes wrong for Sanchez in this game in the lead up to the challenge.

It was a stupid decision from Sanchez when really he should have just let Mbeumo score rather than take the sending off because there was a whole game left ahead of him where Chelsea could have got back in it with 11 men on the field still.

It is very typical of Sanchez during his career to make silly decisions like this, despite his clear rise in form since the end of last season.

However, despite being sent off, Sanchez wont really miss any games for Chelsea at all, and here is why….

Sanchez red card not violent conduct

As explained by Sports Illustrated, Sanchez will only receive a one-game ban. He was sent off for the denial of a clear goalscoring opportunity, not violent conduct.

Players are normally suspended for at least three matches if they’re sent off in the Premier League for violent conduct.

Sánchez is only banned for Chelsea’s Carabao Cup third-round clash at Lincoln City on Tuesday night, meaning he will be back available for their next league game against Brighton.

Sanchez wouldn’t play in the cup anyway

Technically he wont miss any games because he would have been highly unlikely to have started against Lincoln anyway, with Filip Jorgensen expected to be the starter in this competition.
