Wilton Pereira Sampaio to referee Santos v Fluminense in Brasileirão round 12 | OneFootball

Wilton Pereira Sampaio, 44, a FIFA-PRO category referee from Goiás, will take charge of Santos v Fluminense on Sunday at 16:00 at Vila Belmiro in Brasileirão round 12.

According to Diario Do Peixe, assistants will be Bruno Raphael Pires and Leone Carvalho Rocha, both from Goiás, with Rodolpho Toski Marques of Paraná on VAR.

It will be the first Santos match he oversees this year. Last year he handled four league games, a 2-1 defeat to São Paulo, a 2-1 win at Cruzeiro, a 0-0 draw with Fluminense, and a 3-0 win over Juventude.

Two years ago he refereed the 2-1 loss to América-MG in Série B, a match remembered for a fair play dispute and an injury to goalkeeper João Paulo.

In 2023 he oversaw three league fixtures, the 1-0 defeat to Grêmio, a 1-1 draw with Botafogo, and a 3-2 home loss to Flamengo, plus a 3-0 win over Iguatu-CE in the Copa do Brasil.

In 2022 he took four Brasileirão games, wins over América-MG 3-0 and São Paulo 1-0, a 0-0 draw with Fortaleza, and a 1-0 defeat to Palmeiras. In 2021 he was in charge for the 2-0 win over Fluminense.

In 2020 he officiated three matches, a 3-3 draw with Grêmio, a 4-2 home win over Sport, and a 1-0 loss to Flamengo, which drew controversy after two Santos goals were cancelled by VAR. In 2019 he handled both league meetings with Fluminense, a 1-1 draw at Maracanã and a 2-1 win at Vila Belmiro.
