Dan Neil is attracting interest, with Wolves and Coventry City among the clubs monitoring the Sunderland midfielder before the summer window. Ipswich Town are also interested in keeping him permanently after his loan at Portman Road.
Football League World reports that Wolves are tracking Neil as they prepare for life back in the Championship.
Neil is due to leave the Stadium of Light when his contract expires at the end of the season, ending a long association with his boyhood club.
The South Shields-born midfielder, a lifelong Sunderland supporter, progressed through the academy after time with Hebburn Town Juniors.
He joined Ipswich on loan in January 2026 and helped them win promotion back to the Premier League. The 24-year-old has now been involved in three promotions, having previously featured in Sunderland’s rise from League One to the top flight.
Neil made his senior debut in the EFL Trophy in November 2018 as a late substitute. His first professional goal arrived in September 2021 in a 2-1 win over Accrington Stanley, and he was named EFL Young Player of the Month that December.
