Wolves are braced to seek a new first-choice goalkeeper this summer, with Jose Sa looking likely to depart, and have been linked with Wolfsberger AC’s Nikolas Polster.
They still have Sam Johnstone, but Sky Sports Austria reports Wolves and Celtic are interested in Polster, who would cost about £1.5m, with German clubs also monitoring.
Reports in Türkiye say Besiktas have Sa on a list of targets. He has also been linked with Nottingham Forest and with Saudi Arabia.
It was reported the Wolves midfielder rejected approaches from several clubs, including Leeds. He will leave this summer, with Atletico Madrid said to have opened talks over a £39m move, and Madrid is viewed as Gomes’ preferred destination, though Liverpool are still credited with interest.
The Daily Record says West Brom have had a seven-figure offer for Falkirk forward Barney Stewart rejected and have now made multiple bids.
Albion have also been linked with Sunderland goalkeeper Anthony Patterson. Joe Wildsmith looks certain to depart, and Max O’Leary’s future remains unclear ahead of the released and retained list.
Aston Villa are said to be among a handful of Premier League clubs in the race to sign West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes.
Separately, multiple reports suggest Donyell Malen’s loan from Villa to Roma will become permanent, with the Serie A side activating their buy clause.
