The brilliance of Jurgen Klopp and his philosophy seemed like it would stick around forever, but of course this wasn’t the case.

Slot has employed many different tactics in his short time in charge thus far, and one former Liverpool player was quick to comment on these changes.

The TalkSport panel mentioned the blistering form of Ryan Gravenberch. The former Liverpool man praised the Dutch midfielder, even comparing him to former Belgian international Mousa Dembele.

“Gravenberch can glide forward, and that's a rare trait," he said. "The one that stands out in my head that did that was [Mousa] Dembele. In terms of I can get on the ball and I will glide past you. It's a masterstroke putting him in there.”

Federico Chiesa looks ELECTRIC in Liverpool training footage

Liverpool fans got their first glimpse of Federico Chiesa on Tuesday as he made his debut against AC Milan.

After just missing out on the squad for Liverpool's defeat to Nottingham Forest last weekend, Chiesa took to the stage as a Liverpool player for the first time in a stadium he is relatively familiar with, the San Siro.

As Liverpool turn their attention to Bournemouth's visit to Anfield on Saturday afternoon, footage emerged on Thursday afternoon that featured Chiesa's blistering pace.

The Reds were put through their paces in one versus one races which saw the Italian face up against Wataru Endo.

Chiesa comfortably beat the Japanese international - despite not being the quickest opponent he could face - showing signs of what's to come in a Liverpool shirt. Traces of training footage since his arrival suggest he could be a very smart coup.

Ex-Liverpool star calls for Manchester City to be relegated to the FIFTH TIER of English football

An ex-Liverpool striker has called for Manchester City to be relegated to the National League amid their ongoing battle with their 115 financial charges.

City are currently facing charges from the Premier League, with more than 100 breaches of competition rules between 2009-10 and 2022-23.

In a recent column for CaughtOffside, Stan Collymore wrote: “My bar on whether Man City beat the charges against them is set very low because when you are employing best-in-class lawyers, who are finding out every single part of law, that’s an obvious advantage.

“It’s the red tape, it’s the ‘you didn’t file this before midday’ or a ‘paragraph that includes a sentence that we consider factually incorrect, so we want the whole document struck out.’

“If they are found guilty they should be starting, in my opinion, in the National League.”

Liverpool ANGER city councillor with their NEW plans for Anfield

Liverpool have faced criticism from a Labour councillor, who has said the club should “stop treating the [Anfield] area with contempt”.

Labour councillor for Everton East, Ellie Byrne, has said she responded to the email the club sent out last night which revealed that Liverpool are applying for a planning application to “pedestrianise parts of Anfield Road.”

She tweeted on Thursday afternoon saying: “I will completely and utterly fight against this planning application and oppose it wholeheartedly.

“Stop treating our area with contempt. That road has been shut for YEARS due to the stadium expansion and the promise was Anfield Road would always go back to being a road.  We know what the original promise was, via Anfield Road so are you now not keeping it?

The stadium would not be changed again after its recent extension, which saw the Anfield Road stand gain 7,000 seats, but the area would be changed slightly to make it look how the club wants it for match and event days.

Residents are already unhappy with the blockages caused in the area by the extension, so proposals to keep a section closed permanently are unlikely to be well received by local people.

Report claims Trent Alexander-Arnold is edging closer to €140m MEGA-DEAL

Trent Alexander-Arnold is getting closer to completing a €140m deal according to French newspaper L’Equipe.

He is looking to get involved in club ownership, alongside his family, with Ligue 1 side FC Nantes the target according to the report by L’Equipe on Friday.

After initially looking into a buyout at AS Saint-Etienne, Trent and his family turned their attention to FC Nantes. The outlet understands that Michael Arnold, Trent’s father, who acts as the manager of his son’s interests through a London-based investment firm, has an interest in the French sports market.

Nantes are owned by Waldemar Kita, with tension increasingly high between him and the fans. Kita held a video conference with the English group, and also had a meeting with their legal representative. A verbal offer worth €80m upfront, €20m later, and a potential further €40m in bonuses was proposed.

The French newspaper added that Nantes’ owner is ‘furious’ about this being leaked to the media, and has called the whole thing to a close.

Alisson Becker is set to miss out when Liverpool face Bournemouth at Anfield this Saturday as a result of a hamstring injury.

Slot said in a press conference: “He has a slight issue with one of his muscles and we wonder if this game from tomorrow is coming too early or not.

"I think he didn’t get it from the Milan game it happened a bit before, but after the Milan game he felt more and more and now we have to wait and see if he’s ready to be in goal tomorrow or we have to wait a few more extra days.”

It was later revealed that Alisson took NO part in training on Friday, all but confirming his absence for the weekend fixture.

His absence will be a blow for the Reds, with Alisson starting the season well, and sitting joint-top of the golden glove rankings with David Raya, albeit after just four games.
