With just over a week until the 7pm deadline on Tuesday, 2 February, Wrexham are working on late moves to bolster a Championship play-off push. According to Wales Online, Phil Parkinson has funds available and is in talks with multiple targets.

The North Wales club, owned by actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac, have yet to make a January signing after spending £33m last summer. Captain James McClean has joined Derry City and Jake Bickerstaff has moved to Cheltenham on a permanent deal.

Teenage Angers striker Sidiki Cherif, 19, has been linked with a potential £19m package that would break Wrexham’s transfer record. He has four Ligue 1 goals this season and is also of interest to Crystal Palace, which could complicate any move.

Paul Mullin’s future remains unresolved after last season’s forward additions pushed him to the fringes and led to a loan at Wigan. That spell ended early and he has returned, featuring in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Liverpool, but another temporary move appears the likeliest outcome.

Right wing-back is expected to be addressed, with Issa Kabore’s injury and Africa Cup of Nations duty exposing a lack of depth. Hammarby youngster Hampus Skoglund has been linked, while Sheffield Wednesday’s Yan Valery is also a possibility amid interest from Rangers.

Midfielder Elliot Lee, 31, has not featured in the Championship this season and is open to a loan. One near agreement collapsed as the prospective club pursued a different profile, but Wrexham remain confident alternative options can be found.
