Lazio captain Mattia Zaccagni sustained an oblique abdominal muscle issue in the final training session before Genoa, which ruled him out on Friday and left his return timeframe unclear.

He remained on the bench to support the team and was seen in the dugout as Lazio sealed a last-gasp 3-2 win over their Ligurian visitors.

Il Messaggero reports that club doctors fear a Grade II muscle injury, which could keep him out for an extended spell.

Il Corriere dello Sport carries the same concern, adding that he would be sidelined for at least one month if the diagnosis is confirmed.

While tests will determine the extent, Maurizio Sarri can turn to Daniel Maldini on the left flank. The 24-year-old debuted against Genoa as a striker but may be more comfortable out wide.
