Martin Zubimendi is hoping to turn London red for an Arsenal trophy parade later this month, adding that such an event would be ‘incredible’.

Arsenal summer signing Martin Zubimendi has had a busy season with his new club, playing 54 times already with another three games remaining.

47 of those 54 appearances have been starts, with the 27-year-old only recently dropping out of the lineup amid suggestions of fatigue and the positive introduction of Myles Lewis-Skelly to the Arsenal midfield.

The Spaniard is now hoping to end a tiring club campaign with something to celebrate, telling the media he wants to see Arsenal fans turning London red for a trophy parade.

“We see that we are close, that we can do something big and we are looking forward to it and to be able to celebrate a possible feat,” Zubimendi said.

“If we can do it then it is going to be an important moment for the fans. Hopefully, London will be dressed in red and I think that because of everything I’ve experienced this year, I want to think it’s going to be a unique day.

“It would be incredible. It’s true that we haven’t felt [not winning the league] as much as the fans and the [other] players who have felt it over the years with that desire to win this title.

“But, well, this year I think they have instilled in us all the desire and the expectation that there is in terms of that and those who have more experience here.”

Arsenal are on the verge of trophy success, needing two wins (from two games) in the Premier League to win the title, and one win in the Champions League final to lift the trophy ahead of PSG.

The club have already put plans in place for a potential trophy parade on May 31st, the day after the Champions League final. But those plans obviously hinge on the team winning something first, or else they’ll be scrapped.
