2026 World Cup squads, key announcement dates and early selections

Qualified nations have begun unveiling 26-player squads for the 2026 World Cup, to be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico from 11 June to 19 July. According to L'Équipe, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sweden have already named their groups, with further announcements scheduled.
Sweden's selection features Alexander Isak, Viktor Gyökeres and Victor Lindelöf among others. Bosnia and Herzegovina include Edin Dzeko and Ermedin Demirovic.
Key dates set include 14 May for France and New Zealand, 15 May for Japan, Tunisia, Belgium and Ivory Coast, and 16 May for South Korea. Brazil and Austria are due on 18 May, Portugal on 19 May, and Switzerland on 20 May.
Morocco, Germany and Norway will announce on 21 May, England on 22 May, the Netherlands and Spain on 25 May, the United States and Panama on 26 May, and Egypt and Colombia on 29 May. Mexico, Australia and Croatia are scheduled for 1 June.
Further squads are to be confirmed for South Africa, the Czech Republic, Canada, Qatar, Haiti, Scotland, Paraguay, Türkiye, Curaçao, Ecuador, Iran, Cape Verde, Saudi Arabia, Uruguay, Senegal, Iraq, Argentina, Algeria, Jordan, DR Congo, Uzbekistan and Ghana.
