Football League World has looked at three potential Manor Solomon alternatives for Leeds United
Leeds United's chances of securing a permanent deal for on-loan star Manor Solomon have been made clearer, with Tottenham Hotspur reportedly willing to offload the winger for a fee between £10-15 million in the summer.
That's according to a fresh report from GIVEMESPORT, which has detailed Ange Postecoglou's stance on the Israeli international forward.
Solomon struggled to make an impact last term in north London before his summer loan switch to Leeds, who are said to "love" the prospect of signing him permanently in the event of promotion to the Premier League.
Leeds are edging ever closer to realising that ambition come May, and Solomon has played an influential role.
The 25-year-old has been among the finest attackers in the second-tier this season, keeping the likes of Willy Gnonto and fellow summer signing Largie Ramazani out of Daniel Farke's side in recent times.
But they are said to face competition from Everton, which could add difficulty to any pursuit. Spurs' asking price does feel reasonable for a player of Solomon's quality and output, but it doesn't mean Leeds have a deal wrapped up by any stretch.
With that in mind, Football League World has taken a look at three potential alternatives if the Whites fall short in their likely bid to bring Solomon to Elland Road full-time.
Already, it would seem as though Leeds are potentially planning for life without Solomon. This is evidenced by their reported interest in Celtic winger Nicolas Kuhn, who has emerged as an ambitious transfer target ahead of the summer window.
As per a recent report from TBR Football, Leeds are among the clubs interested in the former Germany youth international. They are, however, joined by the likes of Everton, Crystal Palace, Newcastle United and Brentford, meaning a deal could be difficult to broker.
Nonetheless, Kuhn is a player Leeds should push the boat out for if they are unable to bring Solomon back to the club next season. The 25-year-old signed for Celtic from Rapid Wien last January and has been in electric form this season, registering 18 goals and 12 assists across all competitions.
The ex-Ajax youth star recently found the back of the net against former side Bayern Munich in Celtic's UEFA Champions League exit and looks every bit capable of stepping up to the top-flight with ease.
Acquiring Kuhn would represent a statement of Leeds' intentions in the Premier League next season and an arguable upgrade on Solomon, too.
A return to Elland Road for Jack Clarke would certainly be an interesting scenario, and one could argue the talented winger has unfinished business in West Yorkshire.
Clarke, of course, came through at Leeds and sufficiently impressed in his 25 appearances under Marcelo Bielsa during the 2018/19 Championship campaign to earn a reported £10 million move to Spurs the following summer.
Then aged just 18, Clarke immediately rejoined Leeds on loan in the first of a string of underwhelming temporary stints back to the second-tier, but it finally clicked at Sunderland following spells with QPR and Stoke City.
Clarke helped Sunderland to promotion back to the Championship in his first half-season before joining permanently and establishing himself as one of the division's finest attackers in the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons.
Across that time in the Championship, the speedy winger scored 26 times and set up a further 17 goals, with his electric pace and trickery catching the eye just as much as his refined final ball.
The 24-year-old finally left Wearside to join Premier League newcomers Ipswich Town for an initial £15 million fee, which could rise to £20 million in add-ons, last summer.
But it hasn't worked out just yet for Clarke, who has returned three assists and no goals from 21 top-flight appearances - although only six of those have been starts.
Make no mistake about it, Clarke would be a force to be reckoned with in the Championship next season for Ipswich, who now find themselves bracing for a swift return to the second-tier.
The Tractor Boys are five points shy of 17th-placed Wolves with just 12 games to spare of the current campaign.
Clarke left Sunderland to play Premier League football, though, so one has to wonder just how receptive he would be to another season back in the Championship.
He is yet to hit the heights at Portman Road but has faced stiff competition in Kieran McKenna's side and has shown glimpses of his ability to mix it at the highest level - the 24-year-old's ability should be in little doubt and Leeds could reignite that spark if they prove incapable of landing Solomon for a second spell.
Alternatively, Leeds could return to prize away a player they will have seen plenty of over the last two seasons in Norwich City's Borja Sainz.
The Spanish winger impressed in his first season at Carrow Road but has gone up to another level this time around.
Despite missing six matches through suspension and not finding the back of the net since the end of November, Sainz remains the division's leading goalscorer with 15 strikes under his belt from 29 appearances.
Sainz is a high-volume shooter with a natural instinct infront of goal, which would make him a sound replacement for the efficient Solomon, but he also has the raw pace, skill and craft in possession to help in both transition and unlocking defences.
He's been a star for Norwich this season and will surely be looking to head to pastures new should the Canaries fail in gaining promotion to the Premier League.
