One of the eight ties sees last season's Championship champions, Leeds United, host Norwich City at Elland Road.

There are plenty of talking points ahead of the matchup between the Whites and the Canaries this Sunday, and here's everything we at Football League World feel you need to know ahead of the game.

Where can you watch Leeds United vs Norwich City?

Firstly, for those unable to catch the action in person at Elland Road, every game in the fifth round will be available to be streamed at home through TNT Sports, and some even through free TV on the BBC.

Leeds and Norwich's matchup is one of the TNT Sports-only games, kicking off at 4:30 on TNT Sports 1.

TNT Sports packages can be purchased through Discovery+, with memberships costing £30.99 per month.

Daniel Farke will not be in the dugout for the game against his former club

For Daniel Farke, a game against his former club, Norwich, is one that he'll always relish, given his successes there. At Carrow Road, he oversaw two Championship title wins.

However, this Sunday, he'll be forced to watch in the stands after he accepted the one-match ban imposed upon him following the red card he was shown after entering the field of play following the 1-0 defeat against Manchester City last Saturday.

Farke will serve that ban this Sunday, instead of appealing and risking the ban being delayed or extended for a Premier League game. It's just the second time since he was appointed Leeds manager in July 2023 that he will serve a touchline ban.

The first? The 3-1 win away at Sheffield United last February, which gave his side the boost needed en route to the Championship title.

Norwich City's extensive injury list ahead of Leeds United trip

The FA Cup offers a nice break from league action and a chance to shift focus elsewhere for a weekend. It also presents the chance for some players who haven't played many league minutes to rotate into the side, which you get the feeling that Leeds may do.

As the Championship outfit, you'd expect Norwich to go as strong as possible, but even then, with their lengthy list of absentees, that's an impossible task for Philippe Clement.

There are a total of 11 confirmed absentees in the Canaries camp ahead of this weekend's trip to Elland Road, and when you can field an eleven of unavailable players, that constitutes a bit of an injury crisis.

When compared to the fact that Leeds have just confirmed Noah Okafor to be out, it gives Leeds a slight squad advantage heading into the match-up on Sunday.

Leeds United can reach the FA Cup quarter-finals for the first time since 2002/03

Leeds fans often hark back to their glory years of the late 1990s and early 2000s, when they were challenging at the top of the Premier League and competing in Europe regularly. It also marks the last time that they made the last eight of the FA Cup.

The last time the Whites made the quarter-finals was in the 2002/03 campaign, when the then-Premier League Leeds side lost to second-tier side Sheffield United. Since then, there have been just four round five appearances before this season, with two of those coming in the last three years!

Leeds were knocked out by Fulham in 2023 and Chelsea in 2024. The last time they were knocked out by a side in a division below was in 2021, when Crawley Town beat Marcelo Bielsa's Whites 3-0.

As for Norwich, the last time they made the quarter-finals was under Daniel Farke in the 2019/20 campaign. Then, they were beaten after extra time by Manchester United.

Norwich are looking for their first win over Leeds since 2019; Daniel Farke was manager

Norwich's record against Leeds as of late hasn't been good at all. Leeds did the double over the Canaries the season that Jesse Marsch's side just scraped Premier League survival on the final day of the 2021/22 campaign.

In Leeds' two years back in the Championship, Norwich drew two and lost four against this weekend's opponents, including three defeats to nil at Elland Road, one of which was the 4-0 drubbing in the 2024 play-off semi-finals.

Indeed, the last time Norwich beat Leeds was back in February 2019, some seven years ago, when Daniel Farke was in their dugout. On that day, a Mario Vrancic brace on either side of a Teemu Pukki effort saw the Canaries leapfrog Marcelo Bielsa's side to the top of the Championship.

It'll be a tough task for Philippe Clement's side to avoid going nine games without beating Leeds, but, as is the saying, anything can happen in the FA Cup, and a loss against a Championship side wouldn't be the worst cupset to happen to Leeds in the past couple of decades.
