Arijon Ibrahimovic wants to make the most of his opportunity at FC Bayern. After a successful loan stint with 1. FC Heidenheim, the forward returned to Munich this summer with a clear goal in mind: to break through with Germany’s most successful club.

This summer marks the start of a new chapter in Arijon Ibrahimovic’s still-young career. After an instructive year at 1. FC Heidenheim, the 20-year-old is back on FC Bayern’s roster and has his first opportunity to prove himself as a permanent member of the first team.

The loan to Heidenheim has clearly helped the attacking player develop. In the Bundesliga’s fierce relegation battle, Ibrahimovic gained valuable experience, continued to develop physically, and contributed a total of nine points. Now he is set to take the next step in his development in Munich as well.

Ibrahimovic makes his ambitions clear

With the start of training camp at Lake Tegernsee, Ibrahimovic has his first major opportunity to showcase his talents to Vincent Kompany. Since numerous regulars are still on vacation following their participation in the World Cup, the attacking talent stands to have plenty of opportunities to see playing time.

Ibrahimovic made his goals crystal clear in an interview with the Abendzeitung: “I want to prove myself here, establish myself, and get as many minutes on the field as possible.”

The 20-year-old also revealed that he has been assigned a specific role within the team. According to this, he is slated to serve as a backup for new signing Luis Díaz.

“I’m thrilled to have this opportunity at the world’s biggest club,” Ibrahimovic said.

A Big Opportunity in Preseason

For the attacking player, the summer preseason offers the ideal opportunity to make a lasting impression.

Following the training camp at Tegernsee, FC Bayern will head out on a tour of Asia. There, too, several attacking players—including Jamal Musiala, Luis Díaz, Harry Kane, Michael Olise, and Ismael Saibari—will initially be absent. This should give Ibrahimovic additional playing time.

The more convincingly he performs in the coming weeks, the better his chances of establishing himself as a permanent rotation player on the first-team roster.

His future is in his own hands

At the same time, Ibrahimovic knows that the upcoming season could be pivotal for the rest of his career.

If he makes his breakthrough at FC Bayern, he could secure a long-term spot with the record champions. If, on the other hand, it turns out that the leap into the starting lineup is still too big, a strong season should further increase his market value and attract interest from other Bundesliga clubs or international teams.

For now, however, the forward’s focus is entirely on Munich. Following his successful development in Heidenheim, Ibrahimovic now wants to take the next step and make a lasting impression at one of the world’s biggest clubs.

The coming weeks at Tegernsee and during the Asian tour could be decisive in determining what role the 20-year-old will play in the 2026–27 season under Vincent Kompany.
