Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner says it ‘amuses’ him to read reports linking him with managerial jobs at Manchester United and Bayern Munich.
The 51-year-old is in the final year of his contract at Selhurst Park, and rumours have been circulating about where his long-term future lies.
While there haven’t been any concrete updates on a potential contract renewal, Glasner has been touted as a possible replacement for United’s Ruben Amorim and Bayern’s Vincent Kompany.
Kompany’s job at Bayern is safe, but Amorim is under pressure at United despite receiving repeated assurances from the club’s hierarchy.
If United pulled the plug on Amorim, Glasner would be in the running as a potential successor.
However, he has decided to ignore all the speculation around his future and focus on the job at hand with FA Cup winners Palace.
When asked about the prospect of managing another Premier League club, Glasner said (via the Standard): “It would be unfair to name a club, because every club has a great coach and a great person.
“It amuses me when other people know what I want without having discussed it with me.
“That’s why I’ll never make a statement about something like that, because there’s simply a great coach everywhere. Oliver Glasner doesn’t need to add his two cents.
“I’ve stopped following the media too much, regardless of victory or defeat, because I’ve noticed that a lot of nonsense is being written.”
Palace have enjoyed an excellent start to the season under Glasner’s leadership. The Eagles sit sixth in the Premier League table after taking 12 points from their opening seven games.
They went into the international break on the back of a 2-1 defeat against Everton, ending their 19-game unbeaten run across all competitions.
Glasner will hope his side can return to winning ways when they host fellow high flyers Bournemouth in London after the international break.
