Enzo Maresca has played down speculation linking him with the Manchester City job, and stated he would absolutely be Chelsea manager next season.
It was reported on Thursday Maresca is high on City’s list of candidates to replace to Pep Guardiola when he decides to leave the club.
Maresca is believed to have an internal problem at Chelsea, which is said to have stemmed from what he perceived as a lack of support after the defeat to Atalanta in the Champions League earlier this month.
It’s been quite the week for Chelsea, with Maresca stating after the Everton game it had his been his worst 48 hours at the club.
The City story came as somewhat of a surprise, and speaking ahead of Saturday’s game with Newcastle he confirmed he would be Chelsea manager next season.

“Absolutely, yes,” he told his pre-match press conference.
“Again, I have a contract until 2029, and this is speculation 100%.
“So I don’t have nothing to add, because again, I don’t pay attention.
“And if we continue to talk about that, that means that I’m paying attention to that. But I’m not focused on that.
“I’m just focused on the Newcastle game. I’m focused on my job. Again, I signed a contract last year until 2029.
“I’m happy with that, and no more than that.”
Maresca’s latest comments have temporarily drawn a line under speculation about his future, but this is unlikely to be the last we hear of it this season.

Chelsea like most clubs will have contingency plans in place, and it’s been reported the Blues appreciate Strasbourg boss Liam Rosenior.
Rosenior is doing a very good job in Ligue 1, and there’s a possibility at some stage he could be a future Chelsea boss given the obvious link between the two clubs.
