Gary Neville singled out Bernardo Silva for praise following Manchester City’s crucial Premier League win against Arsenal on Sunday.
Erling Haaland stole the headlines as the Norwegian powered home a second-half winner to keep his side firmly in contention for the title.
Rayan Cherki also earned his name on the scoresheet, but Neville was left most impressed with Silva.
The Portuguese never stopped running and always appeared motivated to move the ball into dangerous areas.
He had 75 touches in the game, completed 90 per cent of his passes and made five recoveries.
Neville called Silva ‘absolutely sensational’ and praised him for his experience, energy and professionalism.
Talking on The Gary Neville Podcast, he said: “He (Silva) epitomised what Manchester City are. That experience, that know-how, that energy, that professionalism. I thought he was absolutely sensational in the second half.”
Silva has been a key first-team player since joining Man City in a £61 million deal in 2017.
He has made 452 appearances across all competitions, bagging 76 goals and 77 assists.
The 31-year-old has helped his side win six Premier League titles and the Champions League in 2023.
But City have confirmed Silva will leave the club this summer as a free agent.
The Portugal international has no shortage of suitors, with La Liga leaders Barcelona and Serie A giants Juventus interested in signing him.
However, a return to Benfica, where he began his football career, could also be appealing for him.
