Pyramids FC is set to play its first-ever African Super Cup final this Saturday, October 18, 2025 (5:00 PM GMT) against RS Berkane. The Egyptian club enters the match as reigning African champions.
The Egyptian side has experienced a true football fairy tale, joining the exclusive ranks of Al Ahly, Zamalek, and Ismaily—the only other Egyptian clubs to have lifted the CAF Champions League trophy.
Their campaign kicked off early with a well-managed preliminary round against JKU SC (Tanzania), winning 6-0 and 3-1. In the second round, the Cairo-based team secured qualification by dominating APR FC (Rwanda), drawing 1-1 and winning 3-1.
Pyramids finished second in Group D behind ES Tunis (Tunisia), registering four wins, one draw, and one loss. The group also featured Sagrada Esperança (Angola) and Djoliba AC (Mali).
Fiston Mayele and his teammates knocked out AS FAR (Morocco) in the round of 16 with scores of 4-0 and 2-1, overcame Orlando Pirates in the semifinals with a 0-0 draw and a 3-2 win, before defeating Mamelodi Sundowns in the final, drawing 1-1 and then winning 2-1.
