Agustín Giay: Como ‘make an enquiry’ for Palmeiras right-back | OneFootball

TuttoMercatoWeb reports that Como have made an enquiry for Palmeiras right-back Agustín Giay, adding him to their list for next season.

Initial contact came via the player’s representatives. Palmeiras have not been notified and there is no offer on the table.

Palmeiras plan to keep their key players in this transfer window. Giay has also been linked with Atlético de Madrid and Roma.

Giay is currently in the United States alongside Argentina at the World Cup. He was not selected by Lionel Scaloni, but the AFA invited him to remain with the squad.

Como were among Europe’s surprise packages last season. Led by Cesc Fabregas, a World Cup winner, they finished fourth in Serie A and qualified for the Champions League.

The Italian club have also checked on Palmeiras centre-back Benedetti, 20.

After two mixed seasons, Giay became first-choice for Palmeiras in 2026, earning Abel Ferreira’s trust with steady defensive displays. He has played 26 matches this season, 21 as a starter.

Palmeiras signed him from San Lorenzo in 2024 for 7.5 million dollars, around R$ 40 million at the time, buying 75% of his economic rights. His contract runs until September 2030.
