Akliouche excels, Zakaria stands tall as Monaco win 2-1 at Lyon | OneFootball

AS Monaco won 2-1 at Lyon on Sunday, driven by a superb second-half from Maghnes Akliouche.

Akliouche delivered a sublime finish, won the penalty converted by Folarin Balogun, and later made a vital defensive intervention. According to Nice-Matin, he set the tone in a commanding second period.

Golovin was largely subdued aside from a neat exchange with Balogun in the box. Fati replaced him and was twice denied by Greif.

Balogun worked tirelessly against a physical pairing and scored from the spot for his fourth in four matches, then made way for Biereth. Akliouche, rated eight, departed late for Diatta after a standout shift.

The coach kept the same starting 11, saw a flat first half then a clear lift after the break, and his changes landed at the right moments. He was sent off late for protesting Tagliafico’s dismissal. Coach rated seven, match eight, referee three.
