In a significant development, South African football powerhouse Mamelodi Sundowns could be on the verge of losing their manager, Miguel Cardoso, to African rivals Al Ahly.
The Egyptian giants, in search of a new leader, have reportedly identified the Portuguese tactician as their primary target to take over the helm. Sources indicate that while Cardoso is not the only name on their shortlist, he has emerged as the leading candidate for the prestigious position.
Although the specifics of the discussions remain confidential, it is widely believed that Al Ahly is prepared to present a highly attractive financial package to secure his services. The coach himself has remained silent on the speculation surrounding a potential move.
Cardoso, who was appointed by Sundowns last winter, has compiled an impressive record during his tenure. Under his guidance, "The Brazilians" have competed in 42 matches, achieving 27 victories, 9 draws, and suffering only 6 defeats.
