According to Coluna Do Fla, Flamengo open their Copa Libertadores group campaign against Cusco in Peru on Wednesday 08 at 21:30 Brasília time. They have suffered only one defeat across their past five openers.
In 2021, they beat Vélez Sarsfield 3-2 in Argentina after coming from behind, Gabigol scoring twice and Arrascaeta adding the other.

In 2022, they saw off Sporting Cristal 2-0 in Peru, Bruno Henrique and Matheuzinho, now at Corinthians, on target.
In 2023 they lost 2-1 to Aucas at altitude in Ecuador.
A 1-1 draw with Millonarios followed in 2024.
In 2025 they defeated Deportivo Táchira 1-0.
