Carlo Ancelotti has named Palmeiras boss Abel Ferreira as the Brasileirão coach he most enjoys following. The Brazil manager is back in the country after the World Cup exit, starting preparations for the 2030 cycle.

Speaking to ESPN, Ancelotti said the coming months are vital for the Seleção and identified Abel as his preferred touchline watch.

At Palmeiras since 2020, Abel is the most decorated head coach in the club’s history. His side lead the Brazilian league and remain involved in every competition.

Brazil continue their pursuit of a sixth world title. Before that, there is the 2028 Copa América, which he views as crucial to strengthening the path towards the World Cup.

Ancelotti also underlined the importance of the youth ranks and said he is in regular contact with Paulo Victor, the former Palmeiras coach who now leads Brazil’s under-20s. Palmeiras had five players in the most recent call-up and remain the leading club in Brazilian youth categories.
