Former Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti, now leading the Brazilian national team, has spoken candidly about Vinicius Jr.’s emotional outburst during the El Clasico clash between Real Madrid and Barcelona.

The incident stirred significant debate, but Ancelotti has now revealed how he personally addressed the matter with his former player.

The veteran Italian tactician explained that he had a private discussion with Vinicius shortly after the game, during which he made it clear that the forward’s behaviour was not acceptable.

According to Ancelotti, the young star acknowledged his mistake and immediately took responsibility for his actions.

“I spoke to Vinicius about the issue, about the reaction. I told him what I thought, that he had made a mistake.

“He understood. He apologised, I think it’s resolved,” said the former Real Madrid as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.

Ancelotti went on to assure that there is no lingering tension between Vinicius and anyone at Real Madrid

“There is no problem here, nor with his club, nor with his coach,” he confirmed, referring to Xabi Alonso, who succeeded him at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The matter is closed

It must be noted that days after the event, the winger was quick to defuse the situation by posting a public apology on social media, acknowledging his mistake.

Ancelotti made it clear that the matter is now closed. “Nothing more, he is a very important player for us. We are very fond of him,” he added.

Interestingly, the bond between Ancelotti and Vinicius remains strong despite now being on different sides of world football.

After a friendly in South Korea last month, Vinicius praised Ancelotti, saying he is the coach who has given him “the most confidence” in his career and under whom he has played his best football.
