Ao Tanaka started and played 78 minutes as Japan beat Iceland 1-0 in a World Cup warm-up, while Noah Okafor and Brenden Aaronson did not feature.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Leeds have four players heading to this summer’s World Cup, with three of those nations in action on Sunday.
In a pre-World Cup boost, Tanaka was named in the XI for the friendly and helped secure the win before making way late on.
Okafor, included in Switzerland’s World Cup squad, missed the 4-1 victory over Jordan in St Gallen due to a calf injury. Switzerland said on Saturday evening he was still struggling, though head coach Murat Yakin was not worried about his long-term availability.
USA, with Aaronson in the squad, faced Senegal at the Bank Of America Stadium on Sunday evening. Fresh from getting married on Friday, he returned to camp on Saturday, was named on the bench, and remained an unused substitute in a 3-2 win.
Left back Gabi Gudmundsson completes the Leeds quartet with Sweden, who visit hosts Norway in a friendly on Monday at 6pm.
