Arouna Sanganté signs for Sevilla on a free after Le Havre exit

Arouna Sanganté has signed for Sevilla on a free transfer after reaching the end of his Le Havre contract. Sevilla confirmed the 24-year-old centre-back's arrival on Tuesday.

An academy graduate, the Senegalese leaves after 147 appearances in sky and navy, with his deal expiring on 30 June. He has captained Le Havre since the 2023-24 season.

It brings to a close a long association with the Normandy club. The La Liga side, 13th last season, have added him to strengthen their defence.

Le Havre marked his departure by thanking their captain and wishing him well for the next step of his career.

At Sevilla he will discover a new league and a club renowned for major European nights, with seven Europa League titles. He will link up with former Ligue 1 players Gabriel Suzo, Akor Adams and Tanguy Kouassi.
