Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Manchester City on Sunday was overshadowed by an injury concern for winger Noni Madueke. The 23-year-old was forced off after hurting his right knee and is now undergoing scans, with results expected to be made public during Mikel Arteta’s press conference on Tuesday.
Madueke has played an increasingly important role in recent weeks, filling in while Bukayo Saka recovered from a hamstring injury. With Saka now back after a month on the sidelines, Madueke’s own setback represents a fresh concern for Arsenal. His performances have been a highlight for Arteta, providing directness and energy on the right flank, qualities that were on display before Sunday’s incident.

As it stands, “He is being assessed on Monday and will have his right knee scanned, with an update expected on Tuesday during Mikel Arteta’s next press conference.” Supporters will be waiting anxiously for clarity, particularly given the timing of a busy fixture list.
This season has already tested Arsenal’s depth. Captain Martin Odegaard aggravated a shoulder injury that initially surfaced in August and missed the City clash entirely. William Saliba also had a recent scare, having sprained his ankle in the defeat to Liverpool last month, though he has since returned to action.
Arteta has spoken frequently about the importance of managing workloads, and this latest setback adds another challenge. With fixtures coming thick and fast, keeping the core of the squad fit will be crucial if Arsenal are to maintain their ambitions across competitions.
Arsenal travel to Port Vale on Wednesday night in the Carabao Cup third round. Given the injury list, rotation appears inevitable. Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly are both expected to feature, offering supporters a glimpse of the club’s highly regarded academy talent.
New signings could also play a part. Christian Norgaard is in line for his first start, while goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga may make his debut. Defender Piero Hincapie, who was absent from the squad at the weekend, will hope to be included as well. These changes provide an opportunity for fringe players and new arrivals to stake their claim, even if the focus remains firmly on the fitness of Madueke and Odegaard.
All eyes will be on Arteta’s press conference for the official Arsenal injury update. Madueke’s knee problem comes at a delicate point in the season, when momentum is building and the team is attempting to balance Premier League, domestic cup and European commitments. For now, Arsenal will wait on medical confirmation, hoping the scan reveals nothing serious.
