Aston Villa interested in Rafael Leao, Jorge Mendes holds the key | OneFootball

Serie A side Milan are likely to part ways with Rafael Leao this summer and with the player keen on a move to England, Aston Villa have emerged as a possible suitor.

Sportmediaset – via Calciomercato, report that the Portuguese is the key candidate to leave Milan this summer. The Rossoneri demand a fee of around €60 million to execute his sale, even if no suitors have firmly stepped forward for his signature.

Now, it is Aston Villa whose candidacy is emerging. They are interested and the move could be linked to that of Pervis Estupinan. While no final agreement has been reached regarding his switch to Villa Park, parties have come closer. During discussions, Leao’s name emerged and Jorge Mendes is trying to find the player a new club.

Aston Villa need an attacking addition after Morgan Rogers leaves for Chelsea and Milan and Mendes can take advantage of this by offering the Portuguese to Unai Emery’s side.

Milan growing desperate

No English clubs – be it Tottenham or Manchester United, have made any in-roads for Leao after initial contact. This is now alarming Milan, who want to sort out the player’s situation as early as possible, so that they don’t have to execute a sale for a cheap amount. That is one reason why Aston Villa have been approached and Milan want to go down the convenient route to find him a new club.
