Roma is ready to welcome its new sporting director.
After days of negotiations, discussions, and resistance, Atalanta has reportedly decided to release Tony D’Amico, definitively opening the door to his arrival at Trigoria.
The online portal Il Romanista reports this just now.
According to reliable internal rumors within the Bergamo club, the Percassi family has reportedly given the director the green light to terminate his contract with Atalanta and begin a new professional adventure in the capital.
This decision also came in light of the new direction chosen by the Nerazzurri, which will restart with the duo of Cristiano Giuntoli and Maurizio Sarri without wasting any time.
For days, resistance and delays had been coming from Bergamo, but now the situation seems to have finally been resolved.
Roma had already reached an agreement with D’Amico some time ago and were simply waiting for Atalanta’s formal approval to close the deal and prepare the official announcement.
He, along with Gian Piero Gasperini, will be responsible for building the new Roma team that will compete next season in both the league and the Champions League. This partnership has already been tested in Bergamo and is strongly supported by both the Giallorossi coach and the Friedkin ownership.
