Athletic Club dealt fresh injury blow | OneFootball

La Liga outfit Athletic Club have this week announced a fresh setback on the personnel front.

This comes amid confirmation that Beñat Prados is set for an incoming spell on the sidelines.

Midfielder Prados for his part featured in two of Athletic Club’s three outings to open the new La Liga campaign.

This included a start in gameweek 2, when Ernesto Valverde’s troops got the better of Real Betis at La Cartuja.

As alluded to above, however, the 24-year-old is considered a major doubt to feature next time out, when Athletic play host to Deportivo Alavés this coming Saturday.

As per a statement across the website and social media platforms of the Basque side:

‘Soccer player Beñat Prados has suffered a sprained left knee, which he sustained during training last week. His progress is pending.’

This marks the third personnel blow in the space of the last week for Athletic, after Nico Williams suffered an injury whilst on international duty, before Yeray Álvarez was hit with a 10-month ban on the part of UEFA for a failed drugs test.
