Statisticians Opta have on Thursday unveiled their latest odds on the favourites to go all the way in this season’s edition of the Champions League.

This comes after the competition’s 2nd round of fixtures were played to completion over the last two days.

And Spanish football’s two leading clubs find themselves well down the pecking order when it comes to the frontrunners for Champions League glory.

Beginning with Barcelona, Hansi Flick’s troops are of course fresh off a heartbreaking late defeat at the hands of tournament holders Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday.

The Blaugrana, for their part, are now considered 6th favourites to clinch European glory this season.

Turning attentions towards the other half of the Clásico divide, Real Madrid made it two wins from two to open their continental campaign on Tuesday.

After making the long trip to Kazakhstan, Los Blancos made short work of minnows Kairat to the tune of a 5-0 romp.

Despite as much, and their Champions League pedigree, however, Xabi Alonso’s men are considered only 7th favourites to add to their record haul in the competition in 2025/26.
