Barcelona eyeing deal for 2nd Man City star | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona are keen to bring a member of the defensive ranks at Manchester City to the club this summer.

The Sky Blues star in question? Joško Gvardiol.

It is of course common knowledge that Barcelona are on the lookout for reinforcements at the back with a view to the 2026/27 campaign.

After pulling the plug on a deal for first-choice target Alessandro Bastoni, though, the Blaugrana have been forced to broaden their search for options.

And as alluded to above, amid this scouring of the market, the latest name to make its way onto the shortlist of Deco and co. is that of Joško Gvardiol.

As per a report from COPE:

‘Barcelona have set their sights on Gvardiol, a Manchester City player. The defender, who can play both centre-back and full-back, has only one year left on his contract, which could facilitate his departure.’

In the case of Barcelona pulling off an unlikely deal for Croatian international Gvardiol, he could well be joined by a former teammate in Catalunya’s capital, with Bernardo Silva also understood to be closing on a Camp Nou switch.
