FC Barcelona remain fully committed to signing Julian Alvarez despite the difficulties surrounding negotiations with Atletico Madrid.
The Argentine striker continues to be the club’s priority to lead Hansi Flick’s attack following the departure of Robert Lewandowski and the growing uncertainty over Ferran Torres’ future.
As already reported, Barça are expected to revive talks once his World Cup campaign comes to an end.
However, the Catalan club have made it clear they will not exceed their financial limits to complete the deal.
Indeed, according to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have already submitted an offer worth around €100 million for the 26-year-old forward and they have no intention of increasing the fixed fee beyond that figure.

The Catalans believe that the valuation reflects Alvarez’s market value while remaining consistent with its financial planning.
Although Barcelona are prepared to improve the overall package with add-ons, they are reluctant to increase the fixed transfer fee.
Instead, any revised proposal is expected to include performance-related bonuses.
Barcelona are open to adding substantial variables linked to major achievements, such as winning domestic or European trophies, as well as individual performance targets for Alvarez to convince Atletico Madrid.
The idea is to increase the total value of the deal without immediately exceeding the club’s preferred spending limit.
Furthermore, the report states that Barcelona have not ruled out including one of their own players as part of the negotiations if Atletico Madrid express interest.

Several members of the current squad could potentially be discussed, including Marc Casado, Ferran Torres and even Ronald Araujo, although any such move would depend on the players themselves agreeing to be involved in the transfer.
A player-plus-cash arrangement remains one of the options Barcelona are willing to explore if it helps bridge the gap between the two clubs.
For now, Atletico Madrid’s public position has not changed. The club insist they do not want to sell one of their most important players to a direct rival, although behind the scenes they are believed to be more open to negotiating with clubs outside Spain, including Arsenal.
That stance has complicated Barcelona’s pursuit, but it has not discouraged the Catalan club from continuing to work on the operation.
Barcelona intend to wait until Alvarez has completed his World Cup commitments before making their next move.
Once the tournament ends, negotiations are expected to accelerate as the La Liga champions attempt to turn their priority target into the centerpiece of Flick’s new-look attack.
If the deal falls through, the Blaugrana have an ‘exciting’ alternative lined up.
