Paris Saint-Germain have been working to strengthen its center-back lineup this year, bringing in young talents like Lucas Beraldo and Willian Pacho. But their search isn’t over.

Sevilla’s Loïc Badé has been turning heads, especially after his standout role for France at the Summer Olympics. His rising profile caught the attention of French national team coach Didier Deschamps, who called him up during the latest international break.

With Badé now on the radar, it’s no surprise that several top clubs are showing interest. According to a report from SPORT, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, and Paris Saint-Germain are all considering a move for the promising defender.

Spanish outlet Diario AS has also reported that Liverpool are eyeing Sevilla’s French defender Badé as a possible replacement for an aging Virgil van Dijk. Liverpool scouts observed Badé in action during the recent Barcelona-Sevilla match at Montjuïc.

TBR Football reported on Thursday, citing sources, that Newcastle United have joined the race for the Frenchman. The outlet reports that a right-sided central defender is still a priority for Newcastle after missing out on Marc Guéhi.

While Newcastle still holds an interest in the Crystal Palace star, Newcastle club chief Paul Mitchell is now focused on finding other options rather than relying solely on Guéhi.

Additionally, Newcastle has shortlisted Badé, who caught attention with his silver-winning performance for France at the Olympics and has had a solid start to the 2024/25 season with Sevilla.

TBR Football concludes its report by noting that Sevilla would be open to selling Badé in the January transfer window for a price well below his current €60 million (£50.1 million) release clause.
